About the training
We kick off the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training with an overview of the structure and key features of the standard. Then, we’ll update you on the requirements for quality management and technical aspects, such as contract review and risk management. During the course, we’ll also show you why the standard is not a burden, but a benefit—not just for you, but also for your colleagues. Learn how to raise awareness among laboratory staff.
The course doesn’t follow a fixed template. We want to understand the challenges you and your fellow participants are facing. With that input, we’ll tailor the content into a customized ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training.
“The text from the standard is written abstractly and generically and we translate this into practice. By doing this together with the participants and using examples, we ensure a practical standard course.”

in English’
Our approach
Without a mapped-out route, you won’t set out on your journey. After covering the basic theory, we will immediately translate what you’ve learned into practice—specifically, your practice. We’ll use examples that are familiar and relevant to what you encounter in the laboratory. What we won’t do is go through the entire standard word by word. It’s about understanding the text. What does it actually say? We’ll focus on specific sections of the standard that you want to explore further and have discussions about them. You can easily spend half an hour discussing just one sentence from the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
The program
We kick off the training with the important features of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and discuss the structure of the standard. You will then learn about the requirements of quality management using a number of examples. Think of policy and objectives, contract assessment, complaints procedure, internal assessments, corrective measures, risk management and management review.
The technical aspects of the work are also discussed, such as education and training, selection and validation of methods, sample management, quality controls and reporting. In the course we also show why the standard does not have to be a burden, but is of added value. Not only for you, but also for your colleagues. Discover how to create awareness among employees of your laboratory.
Know that the course does not have a fixed template. We want to know what you and your fellow students are up against. With that input we shape the content into a customized ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training.
Meet your teacher
Bob Van Doorsselaere will teach you everything about ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Bob Van Doorsselaere: “I’ll take you through the story.”
“For each piece of theory, explain the why and the practice. Then people ask questions and you get a conversation. For example, about the ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards, internal auditing and implementing corrective measures. I’m not going to read a PowerPoint. An interactive lesson is the most fun, then there can also be room for a side path. I want to follow the main thread, but that thread must not be too tight.”
